Liam Gallagher has been fined £3,300 for the second time after failing to appear at a child support hearing in New York.

Judge Laura Drager said she was tired of Gallagher's "frivolous conduct" after the singer failed to appear for the hearing with Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his two-year-old daughter Gemma.

So far, Gallagher has only flown to America for one child support hearing. In January, he was fined £3,300 by Judge Drager, who said Gallagher's doctor's note detailing the singer's anxiety and depression was not sufficient reason for him not being present.

In the latest hearing, the Judge again asked Gallagher’s lawyer Raoul Felder why his client was not present. Felder replied that he had "no good reason".

"I am imposing a sanction of $5,000 for what I deem to be his frivolous conduct in not appearing in this court," Drager said in response. "I had him appear by phone and I excused his (non) appearance but as we proceed to trial I cannot excuse his (non) appearance any longer. There is no reason that I have been given as to why he cannot appear."

During the hearing, Ghorbani's lawyer Ira Garr also revealed that Gemma is exhibiting "delays" in her development and having problems with her speech, the Daily Mail reports. He added that Gallagher had not asked to see Gemma or requested visitation rights once. Felder responded by accusing Ghorbani of "greed".

Ghorbani, a journalist for publications including Elle and The Wall Street Journal, had a fling with Gallagher after she interviewed him for the New York Times in 2010 and subsequently gave birth to a daughter, Gemma, in January 2013. Gallagher was living with wife Nicole Appleton, the mother of his 12-year-old son Gene, when news of Ghorbani's claims were revealed. The couple have subsequently split, and Ghorbani previously filed a £2 million lawsuit against the singer for child support.

Gallagher's band Beady Eye disbanded in October. The group released their debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' in 2011 and its follow up 'BE' in June 2013.
