Rapper shot during robbery
He's in hospital
US rapper Beanie Sigel has been shot during an attempted robbery.
The rapper is being treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after being hit in the arm.
Police told the BBC that Beanie, whose real name is Dwight Grant, is in a good condition and was able to drive himself to hospital following the incident.
The police added that there is still some doubt as to where the shooting actually occurred, but had been attempted by five men in two cars.
The rapper, who has scored a string of US hits, made his name when he made a guest appearance on Jay-Z’s 1998 album ‘Vol 2: Hard Knock Life’, which earned him a deal with Roc-A-Fella Records. His debut album, ‘The Truth’, appeared in 2000.
