Adam Yauch wants it to be like an indie label

Beastie Boys' member Adam Yauch has launched a full-service film distribution company in New York City.

Oscilloscope Pictures is the result of an expansion of his film and music production facilities in the city, and he hopes that the operation will be run like an indie music label.

Pals David Fenkel (former Vice-President of ThinkFilm) and Dan Berger will join Yauch on the venture, with the first project slated to be announced in the next few weeks.

"We want to put all of our passion and resources, not into big overheads and big salaries, but into the movies," Fenkel told Variety.

Yauch directed and produced the 2006 Beastie Boys movie 'Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That!'.
