BECK TICKLED PINK!

Mr Hansen says the colourful star sings the chorus of 'Feelgood Time' "way better than I ever did"...

BECK has spoken out for the first time about Pink's cover of his unreleased song 'FEELGOOD TIME', recorded for the new 'CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE' movie.

In a posting on hisofficial website, Beck admitted that William Orbit "sings the chorus better than I did".

"I finally heard it a week later when I got home and was surprised to find that William Orbit had sung over my actual recording of the song and resang the vocal arrangements I did!", he said. They took out some of my crazy guitar shizz and made the song a little more radio friendly."

He added, "I was disappointed cos I wanted my version to get out there in some capacity, but now it would just sound like I was doing karaoke to William Orbit."

The track, written and recorded with [/a], is not the first Beck song re-recorded by another artist. [a], [a][/a] and Weird Al Yankovic, are amongst the musicians who have covered Beck originals and the singer/songwriter remarked that he likes the idea of his music being recorded by other artists.

"I like the idea of songs having a life beyond what I do," he admitted. "I have much respect for the songwriter tradition, Bacharach, Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser, Hank Williams. If a song is good enough it'll translate to all sorts of voices and styles."

Beck closed his posting by revealing that his version of the song is "floating around somewhere". He said, "Hopefully you'll be hearing it in one version or another at beaches, community pools and motor parks across the nation this summer. Feelgood Time indeed."
