IT'S GETTING BETA!

The eclectic indie rockers are back in action...

THE BETA BAND may have their new album finished as early as January next year.

According to the official Beta Band website, www.betaband.com, the band will commence recording on the follow-up to their eponymous debut in the "next few weeks" having been in the studio demoing material for the last couple of months.

Their last live show was at this year's Glastonbury Festival, where they headlined the second stage.

The site also reports that Beta Band mainman Steve Mason's first two solo 'King Biscuit' EPs have been compiled and are being sold as one record in the US and Japan. Previously the Beta Band released their first EPs as one record, titled 'The Three EPs'.

As previously reported on nme.com, The Beta Band are confirmed to DJ at the monthly 'Arthur Baker's Sunday Jam' sessions at The Elbow Rooms in Islington, London, the first of which takes place on October 22.

Speaking about the sessions, Baker said: "When the Beta Band come they'll probably play drums and percussion on top of tracks, the kind of stuff they used to do. The first time I saw the Beta Band they played a Beastie Boys party in Brixton and John was DJing and they were all just banging on top of it. It was great."
