Former Beta Band frontman Steve Mason has announced plans to record a solo album and details of a free download.

The singer, who has previously recorded material under his King Biscuit Time and Black Affair monikers, is lining up his first record under his own name entitled 'Boys Outside' for next March.

The first track to be lifted from the album, 'All Come Down', will be made available through his official site Stevemasontheartist.com as a digital download on December 7.

The singer has enlisted remixer and producer Richard X to produce the forthcoming album through his Black Melody label.
