Beyonce ditches plans to play Malaysia citing 'scheduling conflicts'

But was her wardrobe to blame for the cancelled show?

has cancelled a scheduled show in Malaysia, instead choosing to perform in Indonesia on her visit to the region.

The singer has cited a scheduling conflict as the reason for the November 1 cancellation, although rumours are rife that it was due to strict Muslim rules about how women performers should dress.

Indonesia is also a Muslim country, but its rules are not as strict as those in Malaysia that insist women cover up from shoulders to knees.

According to the Associated Press, Razlan Ahmad Razali, the chairman of Pineapple Concerts who were due to stage the show said they were “disappointed and frustrated” that the concert was pulled from Malaysia.

Gwen Stefani agreed to cover up for her performance in Kuala Lumper last August, but said it was a “major sacrifice”.
