Beyonce to portray blues legend Etta James

New film about Chess Records in the works

Beyonce is to star as blues legend Etta James in a new film about the 50s record label Chess.

The singer will play James, most famous for her hit 'I Just Want To Make Love To You', in 'Cadillac Records'.

Beyonce will also record four songs for the film’s soundtrack, donating a portion of her royalties to the Survivor Foundation, a charity for recovering addicts.

Oscar winner Adrien Brody is also set to star as Leonard Chess, the label's founder, while other musicians portrayed in the film are set to include Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry.

Beyonce has previously starred in films including 'Dreamgirls', 'Austin Powers In Goldmember' and 'The Fighting Temptations'.
