Grammy nominations 2010 announced – Beyonce, Lady Gaga, MGMT shortlisted

Kings Of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix also in the running

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kings Of Leon, Taylor Swift and Black Eyed Peas are among the acts nominated for next year's Grammy Awards.

The former Destiny's Child singer is up for ten awards, including the Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance gongs.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been nominated in the Best Alternative Music Album for third album 'It's Blitz!'. They are up against Phoenix's 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' in the category.

The Ting Tings and MGMT are both nominated in the Best New Artists category.

In the Record Of The Year category Beyonce is nominated for 'Halo'. She is up against Black Eyed Peas ('I Gotta Feeling'), Kings Of Leon ('Use Somebody'), Lady Gaga ('Poker Face') and Taylor Swift ('You Belong With Me').

All the acts nominated in that category bar Kings Of Leon are nominated for the Album Of The Year award, plus the Dave Matthews Band (for 'Big Whiskey And The GrooGrux King').

The awards ceremony will take place on January 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
