Beyonce admits to giving her fee for Gaddafi concert to Haiti relief fund
Singer's publicist says she gave her fee $2 million (£1.3 million) fee away
Nelly Furtado confirmed on Monday (February 28) that she was giving money she'd received for playing for Gaddafi family to charity and Beyonce has faced calls to act in a similar manner.
The singer performed for the family on New Year's Eye in 2009 and was paid a reported $2 million (£1.3 million) for the gig.
Speaking to the Associated Press, the singer's publicist Yvette Noel-Schure said: "Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the [Gaddafi] family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause. The fee was put toward humanitarian efforts in Haiti."
Documents leaked from the US State Department earlier this week show that Mariah Carey, Timbaland and 50 Cent have also performed at parties organised by Colonel Gaddafi's son Muammar.
