The video for Beyonce’s ’Run The World (Girls)’ will premiere on American Idol in the US tomorrow (May 18) night.

A statement on the singer's official website confirms that this will be when the promo is first shown.

The song was rush released last month after leaking onto the internet. It features a sample of Major Lazer's 'Pon De Floor'.

It is the first single from the singer’s new album '4', which is set to be released this summer. She told Billboard: "I think it would be a really nice thing to let [the fans] name the record."

The US version of X Factor is set to take the same Wednesday/ Thursday time slot that American Idol currently has when it premieres in the autumn.

Beyonce headlines Glastonbury festival at the end of June and is also set to play slots at T In The Park and Oxegen festivals during July.
