Beyonce is set to perform at US President Barack Obama's inauguration.

She will sing the National Anthem of the United States at the event, which will take place on January 21 outside the Capitol building in Washington, DC.

Beyonce previously performed at one of Obama's inauguration balls four years ago, singing Etta James's 'At Last' whilst Obama and his wife Michelle had their first dance.

Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor will also be singing at Obama's second inauguration.

Last year, Barack Obama praised Beyonce for being the perfect role model for his daughters.

The President spoke at a fundraiser the singer and her husband Jay-Z hosted for his re-election campaign in New York – where they raised $4million (£2.46million).

"To J and B, thank you so much for your friendship. Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls," the President said.

Beyonce will also be performing at the half-time show at the Super Bowl next month.

She will take to the stage of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on February 3 and reportedly release new material prior to her performance.
