Fans uploaded a 25-second snippet of the song to YouTube after it was featured in the trailer for the forthcoming Disney film Epic. Beyoncé will star in the animated film as the character Queen Tara, with Colin Farrell, Amanda Seyfried, Christpher Waltz, Pitbull and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler also set to feature. Epic opens in cinemas internationally from May 24.
Beyoncé has unveiled a spate of new songs in 2013, including the track ‘Grown Woman’, which was premiered via a Pepsi advert show during the half-time show of this year’s Super Bowl, and ‘Standing In The Sun’, which features in a television commercial for high street retailers H&M. It has not yet been confirmed whether either song will appear on the singer’s forthcoming new album.
Last month, meanwhile, her cover of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’, which she recorded with OutKast’s Andre 3000 for the official soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, was premiered online. The track attracted fierce criticism from Winehouse’s father Mitch, who claimed that Beyoncé brought “nothing” to the song and described Andre 3000’s contribution to the cover as “terrible”.
Beyoncé has been in the UK in recent weeks as part of her The Mrs Carter Show world tour, with the singer performing shows in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Dublin. Earlier this month, a list of demands she made during her residency at London’s O2 Arena were revealed and allegedly included requests for £600 drinking straws and hand-carved ice balls on her rider, as well as Beyoncé’s insistence that she would only use red toilet paper.
