Beyoncé has been awarded with an Emmy for her Super Bowl half-time show.

The US superstar performed during the game between Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers in New Orleans in February and has now picked up an award for Best Outstanding Lighting Design (Lighting Direction For A Variety Special) for the show. The award was part of the The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which are held the weekend before the Primetime Emmys take place later this month. HBO was the big winner on the night, taking home 20 awards, including eight for Behind the Candelabra, a biopic about the flamboyant piano virtuoso Liberace.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are traditionally held the weekend before the live Primetime Emmys telecast, and are largely dedicated to key technical disciplines and behind-the-scenes crafts essential to television production. Beyoncé was nominated for three awards on the night but missed out on winning in the Outstanding Special Class – Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program and Outstanding Technical Direction categories. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the Primetime Emmy Awards show will take place on Sunday, September 22, in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac has said that she is a fan of Beyonce because the singer is "not skanky". Speaking about the 'Single Ladies' singer, Nicks also noted that she is a "good role model".

Nicks enthused: "Beyoncé's great. She's got her alter ego, but Beyoncé the girl, the woman, is very sweet and nice and polite. She's a good role model. She's not skanky. I'm glad we have her."
