Beyonce has broken iTunes' sales record with her self-titled new album.

The singer unexpectedly released her fifth album overnight on Friday. Available exclusively on iTunes, it sold 828,773 copies in just three days, becoming the fastest-selling album ever on the iTunes Store worldwide. The album has taken up the Number One spot in 104 countries.

Earlier today, Beyoncé added extra dates to the string of shows announced for 2014 as part of a wider Mrs Carter Show European tour. The singer will now play two dates each in Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester before four nights at London's O2 Arena in February and March of next year. X Factor winner Sam Bailey will provide support on all of the dates. Scroll down for full dates and ticket details.

Beyoncé performed new track 'XO' for the first time on Friday night (December 13). The US singer was not expected to release a follow up to her last album, '4', until 2014, but surprised fans by releasing the 'visual album' exclusively on iTunes last week. Birmingham LG Arena (23, 24)
