Biffy Clyro change their mind over new album

The trio's new opus definitely won't be called 'The Land At The End Of Our Toes' and 'The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones'

Biffy Clyro change their mind over new album
Biffy Clyro have revealed that they have changed the title of their forthcoming of their sixth studio album.

The trio had previously said that their new album would be called 'The Land At The End Of Our Toes' and 'The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones', but NME has learned that this will no longer be the case. The lines actually come from the chorus of 'Sounds Like Balloons', one of four new tracks they debuted last week.

The album is still conceived as a double release and is likely to come out later this year. It is the follow-up to their 2009 effort 'Only Revolutions' and is being produced by Garth Richardson.

The band debuted the new material over the weekend at an intimate show in Swindon and at Download Festival.

Speaking to NME about their new album, singer Simon Neil said: "We don't ever want to make a boring rock record. We're fans of big tunes, but it wouldn't really be Biffy if it didn't have the quirkiness and the weirdness."

To read more about the new tracks, which also include 'Modern Magic Formula', 'The Joke's On Us' and 'Victory Over The Sun' and for the rest of the interview with the band, pick up the new issue of NME, which is on newsstands now or available digitally.

Biffy Clyro will perform again later this month at the Isle Of Wight Festival. You can watch the video for the band's previous single 'The Captain' by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
