Biffy Clyro get ready to gatecrash the charts
'Saturday Superhouse' expected to go Top 20
'Saturday Superhouse' is expected to enter the Official Singles Chart in the Top 15.
Bassist James Johnston said: “It’s more about the places that we get to go and play not really the chart position. Top 15 would be alright though.”
The band are also confident that their new album ‘Puzzle’, which is released on May 21, will be big.
Johnson said: “The new stuff is very good. We’ve always been a whole album band and with previous albums it has taken people five or six listens to get into but I think this one will hit them first time.”
The band performed tracks from their new album, in front of 250 fans and held a signing at HMV in Oxford Street, London today (March 9).
Their seven song set included four songs that will feature on the new record including ‘Semi-Mental', 'Who’s Gotta Match?' and current single 'Saturday Superhouse'.
The Scottish three-piece have also been confirmed as the main support for Bloc Party on their European tour next month.
“Touring with Bloc Party will be great,” said Johnson.
“Its all a bit crazy though,” added drummer Ben Johnson, “playing such big venues off of someone else’s success will be strange but we’re going to enjoy it.”
“But they did actually ask us to join them,” added guitarist and vocalist Simon Neil.
The band are still in talks with a number of summer festival organisers, including Glastonbury’s Michael Eavis.
The set list for HMV, Oxford Street was:
‘Semi-Mental’
‘Who’s Gotta Match?’
‘Wave Upon Wave Up Wave Upon Wave’
‘Joy. Discovery. Intention’
‘Eradicate the Doubt’
‘Saturday Superhouse’
‘Get Fucked Stud’
Biffy Clyro’s single ‘Saturday Superhouse’ is out now.
