Biffy Clyro, Chvrches, Mogwai longlisted for Scottish Album of the Year Award

The winner of the £20,000 prize will be revealed at a ceremony on June 19

Biffy Clyro, Chvrches and Mogwai are amongst the bands to be longlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award.

The award is now in its third year, and the longlist also includes LPs from the likes of Edwyn Collins, Camera Obscura, Frightened Rabbit and Steve Mason. From April 28, fans will be able to vote on the records they think should be included on the shortlist. For the full longlist, scroll down. Singer-songwriter RM Hubbert was awarded the Scottish Album of the Year Award last year for his record 'Thirteen Lost & Found', beating the likes of Django Django and The Twilight Sad. Hubbert said in a statement: "I am shocked and delighted at winning. I never expected it. It is testament to all my collaborators that we won." John Williamson, chair of the judging panel, added: "In the view of the judges, RM Hubbert’s album was the one that encapsulated and engaged the most."
