Late BIG COUNTRY singer STUART ADAMSON had a high level of alcohol in his system when he committed suicide in HAWAII last month.
A post-mortem carried out by the medical examiner's office in Honolulu has confirmed the cause of Adamson's death was asphyxia due to hanging. It also established he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.279% when he was found dead on December 16. The legal limit to drive in Hawaii is 0.08.
Adamson fought a long battle with drink and drug problems throughout his career.
As revealed yesterday on NME.COM, a memorial service will be held for Adamson at the Carnegie Hall in his home-town of Dunfermline on Sunday (January 27).
