NEW YEAR STAR TURNS!
The proto-janglers-turned-prophets-of-doom celebrate their 30th anniversary with a special show...
Legendary doomsters BIG STAR are to reform for a show in NEW ORLEANS on NEW YEAR'S EVE.
According to Rolling Stone, the group, who originally split in 1975, will play the New Orleans Howlin' Wolf club on December 31 to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
The set will be preceded by an acoustic set from the Posies.
Founder members Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens will play at the event, although bassist Andy Hummel will not play at the show. Original guitarist Chris Bell was killed in a car crash in 1978.
Tickets for the gig cost US$30, and are available via www.ticketweb.com.
