BJORK'S MUM ON HUNGER STRIKE

BJORK's mother is three weeks into a hunger strike, protesting against plans to build a power plant in Iceland.

Hildure Runa Hauksdottir is protesting against plans to build an aluminium smelt and hydroelectric plant above Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier, BBC news reports.

Speaking about her protest, she commented: "I'm not sure I could go on for another 40 days but it is incredible how much support I am getting and this helps a great deal."

As a result, she is said to be feeling frail, living only on natural tea and herbs.
