Bjork cancels UK festival appearance
Singer pulls out of 'volatile' Wild In The Country event
Bjork has cancelled her appearance at the Wild In The Country Festival calling the event "volatile".
The singer was due to play next Saturday (July 5), but has announced she will now not headline the event, held in Knebworth in Hertfordshire.
According to a statement issued on Bjork's behalf she has "been forced to withdraw from the next week due to the volatile nature of this event. Bjork is extremely disappointed that this show will now no longer go ahead."
They added: "Organisers Geoff Oakes and Vince Power for Renaissance have been unable to secure any staging, sound and lighting for this festival making it impossible for the headline artists to perform and are unable to fulfill their contractual obligations to all of the artists contracted to perform at their event."
The statement urged Bjork fans to seek a refund from the point of purchase with Oakes quoted as saying "We hope to be able to offer refunds to as many people as possible".
