Frontman admits his band are hustling their way to the top

Black Kids frontman Reggie Youngblood has claimed he takes great pride in the fact that he has, "managed to hustle a career with no god-given talents whatsoever".

The comment came in response to a question regarding the backlash Black Kids have experienced since they emerged as one of 2008's most hotly-tipped bands.

"There's not an artist that exists who doesn't have their critics," he told The Sun's Something For The Weekend. "I've heard it's been brought into question whether or not I can sing. And I'd answer that 'No, I can't sing, I can't play guitar and I can't dance'."

The band release their debut album, 'Partie Traumatic' on Monday (July 7), with Youngblood decarling: "I'm proud of the album. It's really fucking cool. We set out to record an album which comprised ten singles. We didn't want fillers."

Black Kids play a free show at HMV's Oxford Street store at 6pm this Monday.
