Black Lips, Deerhunter campaigning for 'green funeral' for friend

Bands including Black Lips, Deerhunter and Carbonas are backing a campaign to raise money for the funeral of Atlanta music scene lynchpin Bobby Ubangi.

Ubangi is battling cancer and has stated his wish to have a "green funeral" after he is gone, that will cost around $4,000-$5,000 (£2,400-£3,000).

Renegades, a defunct band that featured Black Lips' Cole Alexander and Jared Swiley, are reuniting for a benefit gig at the Drunken Unicorn venue in Atlanta tonight (July 1).

See Chunklet.com for more information and to find out how to donate.
