The newly re-named festival hits the great outdoors

Black Lips, Har Mar Superstar to headline LA's FYF Fest

Black Lips, Fucked Up, Wavves, No Age, The Thermals, Peanutbutter Wolf, Avi Buffalo and Har Mar Superstar are among the bands headlining the FYF Fest in Los Angeles next month.

Formerly known as the F Yeah Fest, the newly named festival will hit the streets of downtown Los Angeles for the first time this year, after being held indoors at Echo Park venues for the past five years. It is set to take place on September 5 at the Los Angeles Historic State Park.

Also on the bill are Lightning Bolt, Glass Candy, Darker My Love and Dios. Comedians including Tim and Eric from Adult Swim are also set to perform.

Proceeds from the FYF Fest will go toward Homeboy Industries, which helps at-risk and formerly gang-involved youth to become positive and contributing members of society through job placement, training and education. It will also benefit the Harvest of Hope Foundation, which provides emergency and educational aid to migrant farmworkers and their families.

The festival is meant to raise awareness of state budget cuts threatening the California State Park System.
