Ozzy Osbourne’s children, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, have hinted that their father could be reforming the original line-up of his former band Black Sabbath.

In an interview with the Artisan News Service, Kelly revealed that Ozzy was working on “something very exciting” that she was “not allowed to talk about”, while the singer’s son, Jack, refused to deny that the legendary heavy metal band were planning to work together again.

Rumours of a Black Sabbath reunion surfaced last week (August 16) when guitarist Tommy Iommi told the Birmingham Mail that the band were planning on playing live shows and recording a new studio album. He said:

We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’ve been writing is really good. It’s more back to the old original stuff. It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back. He’s doing a lot of TV and he’s being asked stuff about a reunion and he’s going ‘Well, I never say never’. He told me, ‘I don’t know what to say’.’’

Iommi has since distanced himself from the rumours by insisting he was “merely speculating” on a possible reunion, but both of Ozzy's children have now dropped hints that the band are working together again.

Kelly said:

My dad is… I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you. But he’s doing something that is very, very exciting. He’s just finished a tour. But he’s doing something very exciting. I’m not allowed to talk about it, though.

When asked if the rumours of a new Black Sabbath album were true, meanwhile, Jack replied:

I can neither confirm or deny who he is with or where he is.

If Black Sabbath do record a new studio album, it will be their first to feature Ozzy since 1978’s 'Never Say Die!'. The singer was fired from the band in 1979 and replaced by Ronnie James Dio, who passed away last year.
