BACK IN BLACK

BLACK SABBATH have returned to the studio and are recording their first new material since 1978.

The original quartet of Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Toni Iommi and Bill Ward are said to have been joined by producer Rick Rubin. According to news from the US they are still at the demo phase.

Black Sabbath will headline Ozzfest this coming summer. The one-day festival, which takes in the US and Europe, hits the UK on May 26 at the Milton Keynes Bowl.

Meanwhile, the band are set to feature in a UK radio documentary, presented by Chino Moreno of The Deftones. 'Pioneers: Black Sabbath' will air on 'BBC Radio 1's Lamacq Live' on Monday next (March 26) at 11pm. The show will feature contributions from Tony Iommi, Marilyn Manson, Max Cavalera, Limp Bizkit and nu-metal mastermind Ross Robinson, amongst others.
