Blink-182's Travis Barker has spoken about his plane crash ordeal, saying he is "grateful to be here" after suffering burns after a Lear jet he was in crashed last month.
The drummer's plane crashed in South Carolina on September 20, with four passengers losing their lives and DJ Adam Goldstein suffering burns along with Barker in the accident.
Barker and Goldstein have since been released from hospital.
"I hate planes," Barker told US Weekly. "My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened, well, I'm just thankful to be alive. I'm just grateful to be here at all."
The drummer was too afraid to travel in an aeroplane following his release from hospital, so travelled by bus to his Los Angeles home. He is receiving treatment in a burns centre in the city.
"I am doing the best I can possibly be," he said. "I'm so anxious to get out of here. I've just been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands.
"One of my hands has second-degree burns and one has third-degree burns. I'm trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again, and be able to hold my kids again."
Barker is expected to be released from the burns centre in around two weeks.
