Blink-182 co-frontman Mark Hoppus has promised fans the band's new album 'Neighborhoods' is "a combination" of all the band's previous records.

The band release their sixth studio album on September 26, their first LP for eight years and Hoppus has said that he believes it incorporates the best things from their entire back catalogue.

Speaking to NME, Hoppus said of where he believes'Neighborhoods' sits compared to the band's other albums:

To me it sounds like a combination of all our records, there are songs that could have been on 'Dude Ranch', there are songs that could have on our last record [2003's self titled]. Overall, it combines everything we've done before and takes a step forward after that.

Hoppus also spoke of the band's surprise at how well received their new material has been received on their summer US tour, revealing that the band thought about cutting back on the new songs in the set, but ultimately chose to leave them in as online reaction from fans has been so positive.

He said:

We've been dropping them [new songs] in, we were ambitious at first, we put four in our set and after the first couple of shows, me and Travis thought about pairing back on that, but the response online has been so great that we've left all four in.

He continued:

That's been an amazing surprise to me, because when I go see a band play live, the last thing I ever want to hear is 'We're going to play some new songs now', I want the old stuff that I know. But this is so great and exactly what we want for Blink that people want to hear new music, they love old stuff, but they want new stuff too.
