Blink-182, Disclosure and Jake Bugg are among the first names confirmed to perform at next year's Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Organisers today (December 3) confirmed that US pop-punk trio Blink-182 will headline the main stage at Reading and Leeds in 2014, their first time performing at the festival since they headlined in 2010. Jake Bugg and Disclosure, both of who performed at this year's festival, will return next year with Metronomy, Of Mice & Men, I Am Legion and Wilkinson also confirmed.

Speaking about Blink-182's headline slot, Mark Hoppus of the band says: "I'm stoked to play Reading & Leeds 2014. It's our fourth time playing the festivals, and we're very honoured. The new year will see us in the studio preparing new music, getting ready to rock the fine people of the UK. Prepare for the fury."

Today also sees the launch of a deposit scheme for 2014 festival tickets. Fans will be able to secure a ticket with a £50 deposit from 9am on the morning of the announcement with a further three monthly payments of £53.50 to follow. Tickets for the festival are available at 2013 prices until January.

Earlier this year festival organiser Melvin Benn revealed to NME that he had already booked two of the three headline acts for next year's festival. Benn, who this year secured Biffy Clyro, Green Day and Eminem to perform across the August bank holiday weekend, said that there is only one space left to be filled at the top of the bill.

Speaking about the names topping the bill in 2014, Benn said: "We have headliners in mind and booked actually. Two of the three are done, the last one we are giving due consideration to. Both of the headliners have played before." Asked for clues as to who the acts may be, Benn added: "They are bands actually. They are American and English."
