Bloc Party pay tribute to Arthur Lee

The band dedicate 'So Here We Are' to the Love singer

Bloc Party have paid their respects to the late Love singer Arthur Lee after he lost his battle against leukaemia.

The four-piece dedicated the track 'So Here We Are' to the legendary singer during a sold out gig at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (August 4).

Frontman Kele Okereke told the crowd: "It's been a very sad day for rock music," before he teamed up with Broken Social Scene singer Kevin Drew for the band's single.

Lee died in Memphis aged 61 with his wife at his bedside last Thursday (August 3).

The former Love singer was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia earlier this year.

In May after three bouts of chemotherapy failed, he became the first adult patient in Tennessee to undergo a bone marrow transplant using stem cells from an umbilical cord.
