Bloc Party drummer suffers collapsed lung
Bloc Party
Band forced to pull Panic! At The Disco tour shows
Bloc Party’s Matt Tong suffered a collapsed lung following the band’s performance in Atlanta last night (November 9).
The band played their support slot ahead of Panic At The Disco at the Hi-Fi Buys Amphitheatre, after which the drummer was taken to hospital.
According to a statement from the band: “Doctors at the hospital in Atlanta say Matt is in a comfortable condition and not in any danger, he will however be staying in hospital for at least the next three days for observation and it's not clear at this stage when Matt will be fit to resume performing.”
This means the band will definitely miss the following shows on the Panic At The Disco tour:
Charlotte Cricket Arena (November 10)
Washington Patriot Center (11)
New York Madison Square Garden (13, 14)
The band however hope to resume the tour in the near future.
