Bloc Party premiered material from their new album ’A Weekend In The City’ last night (January 24) at Bournemouth’s Old Firestation.

Singer Kele Okereke joked about the fact that the crowd were singing along to new songs ’Song For Clay (Disappear Here)’ and ’Hunting For Witches’ before the album's release on February 5.

“Quick poll - who in this room has our new album?” Okereke asked the crowd.

The question was met with a cheers from the audience and Okereke said: “Just keep us in business and buy it when it comes out, OK?”

It was also a homecoming for drummer Matt Tong, which Okereke pointed out.

“So this is Bournemouth?" he asked. "I’ve heard so much about it from this man,” pointing at Tong.

Tong left the stage donning a Bournemouth FC shirt after the encore, and said: “This is something I’ve always wanted to do, it’s great to be back.”

The played:

'Song For Clay (Disappear Here)'
'Positive Tension'
'Waiting For The 7:18'
'The Prayer'
'This Modern Love'
'Hunting For Witches'
'Little Thoughts'
'So Here We Are'
'She's Hearing Voices'
'Two More Years'

The warm-up gig came ahead of the band’s 21-date UK tour, which begins in London’s Mean Fiddler tonight (January 25).
