Calvin Harris blasts Bloc Party
Bloc Party
Kylie's pal labels the indie rockers 'rubbish and boring'
Rising Scottish crossover star Calvin Harris has blasted Bloc Party, labelling them “rubbish, tedious and boring”.
The opening salvo in what could become a great rock feud was fired by an irate Harris over music he claimed takes itself "too seriously" and has no tunes.
He added: “A lot of these people think they’re changing the world with their music, but actually they’re just boring the shit out of everyone. Like Bloc Party - they are rubbish. They make very tedious music. What kind of person is going to make all this music and not make one single tune? What’s the point?”
Speaking to The Big Issue in Scotland, Harris had kinder words for new superstar chum Kylie Minogue. It has been well publicised recently that the producer turned chart star had been asked to work on some tracks on Kylie’s forthcoming new album.
“She is so nice,” he said, “the most down to earth superstar you could ever hope to meet - she made the tea in the studio.”
Harris is currently on tour across the UK with dance giants Faithless. His debut album, ‘I Created Disco’, is released in June.
