Bloc Party closed their North American tour with a lively set at the LA Weekly Detour Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday night (October 6).
The band drew a massive crowd as the festival's main headliner, with frontman Kele Okereke working the crowd throughout their set.
"This is the last day of our current American tour so it's a fucking party," he told the audience, adding, "I know you kids in Los Angeles love to party!"
The band ran through tracks from their debut album 'Silent Alarm' as well as songs from their recent record 'A Weekend In The City', including 'The Prayer', which garnered huge cheers from the audience.
Earlier in the evening, Justice also drew a huge crowd of LA scenesters who danced throughout the Parisian dance duo's impressive set.
Other highlights of the day included former Beta Band members The Aliens, who sported shaggy afros, sunglasses and colourful cowboy shirts to perform extended spaced-out jams from their recent album 'Astronomy For Dogs'.
The Teddybears also boasted a unique look with their trademark giant plastic bear heads and dark suits. Aimee Echo of The Start guested on vocals.
Swedish indie rockers Shout Out Louds got the crowd dancing with an upbeat set in the shadow of the city's skyscrapers, as did Denmark's The Raveonettes.
Perry Farrell's latest project Satellite Party earned the loudest cheers when they pulled out old Jane's Addiction material.
Approximately 15,000 people attended the festival, which takes place each year on the streets of downtown LA surrounding City Hall. The event also includes carnival rides, local vendors and a comedy stage.
