Russell Lissack has left Ash - potentially paving the way for a Bloc Party reunion in 2011.

The guitarist has finished his temporary live stint with Tim Wheeler's band after touring with them over the past year and playing the festival circuit.

"Russell’s been brilliant and we’ll have him for our festival hopefully," Wheeler told The Sun. "Then we’ll have to think. I do enjoy having the second guitarist so we’ve got our eyes peeled."

Bloc Party have been on hiatus since 2009. They met up over Christmas and posted a photo of them together online, although didn't say whether they were planning to make music together again.

A spokesperson for the band told NME today (March 24) that no new Bloc Party plans were locked down, and so they couldn't say whether they would gear up action again in 2011 yet.

While Lissack joined Ash for touring duties frontman Kele Okereke released a solo album, 'The Boxer'.

He is also working on a novel and appeared on the last Hercules and Love Affair album.
