Frontman Kele Okereke has admitted that being in Bloc Party "isn't always the easiest thing".

The band have recently announced that they'll release a five-track EP called 'Nextwave Sessions' on August 12.

However, they're planning to go on hiatus following their headline set at Latitude next Friday (July 19) - and guitarist Russell Lissack has previously revealed that the band members aren't imposing any kind of time frame on their break from each other.

"There have been some things going on behind the stages and now we're working our way through it," Okereke revealed in a new interview with The Guardian, before adding later: "Being in this band isn't always the easiest thing. We're four British young men that maybe aren't the best at expressing ourselves or our emotions."

Bloc Party previously went on hiatus between 2009's 'Intimacy' LP and last year's comeback album, 'Four'. Explaining why the band takes these breaks, Okereke added: "We all have lives; we all have families; we all have other interests. It's not unheard of, or unhealthy, for us to go off and do that for a year."
