Blondie meet Madonna in the West End
Post punk stars lend songs to 'Desperately Seeking Susan' musical
Blondie have lent several of their songs to the West End musical 'Desperately Seeking Susan', based on the 1985 film starring Madonna.
The show is set to open on October 12 at the Novello Theatre.
It will feature the Blondie songs 'Heart of Glass', 'Atomic', 'One Way Or Another', [p]'Dreaming'[/b] and 'The Tide Is High', as well as a new composition written by frontwoman Debbie Harry, reports the Associated Press.
Harry expressed her desire to see the show end up on Broadway. "It's a live show so it is going to be different to the film, probably more lighthearted," she said.
Emma Williams has been cast in the role of Susan that Madonna made famous, and Kelly Price will play Roberta Glass, which was interpreted by Rosanna Arquette in the film.
