Blood Red Shoes have revealed that they are set to release their second album, 'Fire Like This', on March 1.

It had been rumoured that the album from the rock duo, the follow-up to 2008's 'Box Of Secrets', had seen them take a new pop direction. However, they told NME.COM that they were in fact sticking to their roots.

"The vocals are a bit more pop," singer/guitarist Laura Mary-Carter explained, "but the music is actually heavier."

Drummer Steven Ansell added: "It's slower, which makes it feel heavier, and the melodies are more evil-sounding."

An album track, 'Colours Fade', is available as a free download from the band's website, Bloodredshoes.co.uk. Watch the video for the song by clicking below.

The tracklisting of 'Fire Like This' will be:

'Don't Ask'
'Light It Up'
'It Is Happening Again'
'When We Wake'
'Keeping It Close'
'Count Me Out'
'Heartsink'
'Follow The Lines'
'One More Empty Chair'
'Colours Fade'
