Blood Red Shoes forced to cancel gig due to homicide
Washington venue owner charged with second-degree murder

Blood Red Shoes had to cancel a gig in Washington DC because they owner of the venue they were set to play was charged with second-degree murder.
The Brighton duo had been scheduled to play the DC9 venue on October 21 but the show was pulled after Bill Spieler, one of the venue owners, plus four of his employees were arrested.
Spieler was charged after Silver Spring resident Ali Ahmed Mohammed was allegedly beaten to death after throwing a rock through one of the club's windows, reports the Washington Post.
Mohammed threw the rock after being denied entry to the club as it was closing in the early hours of October 15.
The official cause of fatality has not been determined by police in the city yet, so the death has not been officially ruled a homicide. The venue was closed down following the incident.
