Blur are to perform at next year's twin Primavera festivals in Barcelona, Spain (May 24) and Porto, Portugal (May 31).

Last week, the band announced they would be headlining the Rock Werchter festival, which takes place July 4–7 in Werchter, Belgium. Blur told their Facebook followers that they, "Hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven't seen for a while. Don't know where yet, we'll tell as soon as we do. Stand by."

No UK dates have been announced, but The Guardian reports that "a handful of British festivals", including Reading and Leeds, are bidding for a Blur performance.

Blur had previously hinted that their show at London's Hyde Park in August may be their last. Bassist Alex James told NME: "I really don't know what happens next, that's the only honest answer I can give. It's precarious though. If Hyde Park is shit, then that's definitely it."

It is not yet clear whether the band will be playing any more new material at future live dates. Blur penned two new tracks – 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan' – for the Hyde Park shows, and the band have hinted that more could follow, with producer William Orbit telling NME earlier this year that they had been in the studio working on new material with him.
