Blur have been announced as the first headliner of next year's Øya Festival.

Haim and Angel Haze will also appear at the annual Norwegian bash, which takes place at Oslo's Middelalderparken from August 6-10, 2013.

The first wave of acts confirmed for next year's event is completed by Of Mice And Men and local Norwegian acts Tønes, Monica Heldal and Rebekka Karijord. Further acts will be announced in due course.

Øya isn't the first European festival to bag a headline set from Blur next year. The band are also confirmed for Rock Werchter, which takes place from July 4–7 in Belgium, and the twin Primavera festivals in Barcelona, Spain on May 24 and Porto, Portugal on May 31.

Last year's Øya Festival saw performances from The Stone Roses, Björk, The Black Keys, Bon Iver and A$AP Rocky, among others. To find out more information about this year's festival and for tickets, go to Oyafestivalen.no.
