MALI-ADJUSTED!
DAMON ALBARN, Marianne Faithfull and Sigur Ros are amongst the artists confirmed to appear at a month of events at the LONDON BARBICAN.

For the third year, the Barbican arts centre is running a series of events called 'Only Connect'. Musicians and artists are invited to perform one-off shows that are slightly unusual.

Blur and Marianne Faithfull frontman Albarn plans to elaborate on his love of World Music. Two years after his trip to Bamako to investigate the music of Mali, Albarn is to be reunited with the musicians he recorded with in Africa to perform the world premiere of 'Mali Music'.

Elsewhere, on March 10, Marianne Faithfull is set to debut her new album 'Kissin' Time', accompanied by 'very special guests'. In recent months Beck has been writing with Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker and [a][/a], amongst others.

The events so far run: Marianne Faithfull with special guests (March 10)
John Zorn: The Gift (25)
Mali Music: Afel Bocoum & Damon Albarn (26)
Howie B / Jon Hassell / Baaba Maal (April 5)
Craig Armstrong: Songs & Films (7)
Yo La Tengo: The Sounds Of Science (20)
Sigur Ros & Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson: Odins Raven Magic (21)
Play: Mouse On Mars / Coil / Plaid (27)
