Damon Albarn has penned a musical theatre piece.
The story line is said to revolve around life in Notting Hill where he lives in London.
It is currently being workshopped at the National Theatre.
A spokesperson for the band said it would not be staged until 2007.
The Blur singer wrote it in collaboration with playwright Roy Williams.
Director of the National Theatre, Nicholas Hytner said the pair had been collaborating on the project for nine months.
“It will allow Damon to develop his passionate interest in the many musical styles that have emerged from Notting Hill over the past four decades,” Hytnet told BBC News.
