Blur bassist to share his farming wisdom

Blur bassist Alex James is to host his own radio show next year.

He is due to share his experiences as a 200 acre landowner in the Cotswolds on BBC Radio 4’s On Your Farm programme.

Steve Peacock, executive producer of the show, said: "I would anticipate there are plenty of farmers who would sneer at being told about farming by a guy from Blur, but when they get to know him they'll realise he's keen and really getting a grip on it."

James will take over as one of the regular presenters from January 14 for the show, which airs on Sundays from 6.35am, reports BBC 6 Music.

The Blur bassist, who also presents the newly relaunched radio version of The Tube for Channel 4, keeps 400 sheep and practices traditional cheese-making.
