Two band members hook up to discuss reformation

Blur bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree have met for lunch to discuss their band’s imminent reunion.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the band are planning to reunite as a four-piece – including guitarist Graham Coxon, who left the band in 2002 - and had suggested that they will record together imminently.

Writing on his blog for the Independent newspaper, James explained that he met up with Rowntree and together they discussed how much they were looking forward to the rest of the band meeting up again.

"Rowntree was on good form," he wrote. "We looked forward to the four members of Blur sitting round a table for lunch for the first time in a long time."

"Rumours of another Blur record are greatly exaggerated," he continued. "But that lunch happened. It was just lunch - there are no immediate plans to go into the studio."
