Watch Blur speak about their comeback gig in video interview

Check out the video here on NME.COM

Blur have spoken about their reunion, which was revealed exclusively by NME.COM today (December 9), in a new video posted below.

As NME.COM previously reported, all four original members of Blur have reunited and the band have confirmed they will play a massive gig at London's Hyde Park on July 3.

Now, you can watch the band explain why they reformed in a video posted towards the bottom of this page.

In the clip, bassist Alex James admits that he had feared the band would "never" get back together, before joking: "It's gonna be a bit like putting the 'A-Team' back together for a job. We've gotta bust [drummer Dave] Rowntree out of law school!"

Graham Coxon, talking about what he thinks the band's first shows together will be like, said: "Part of me thinks it's like riding a bike, and it'll just take us getting the volume turned up and then we'll be away, and that will be enough. But another part of me is very cautious. So I'm not gonna bother writing a script!"

Scroll down to watch the video in full, which also features interviews with Damon Albarn and Dave Rowntree.

For a full exclusive joint interview with Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon get this week's issue of NME, available on London newsstands this afternoon and across the UK from tomorrow (December 10).

In the article the duo discuss how they buried the hatchet and why they decided to reconvene Blur, and reveal more of their future plans, including what songs they expect to play next year.

I just welled up a little bit. At the age of 27. How pathetic is that.God bless Alex, he's still mr rent-a-mouth. All sounds very focused on old stuff though...

Blur were ahead of their time. They are fantastic musicians, they are still young (yes, they are) and they deserve to be heard and their fans deserve another listen. I hope Damon whips out a few new songs. Lots of LOVE to Blur!
