The [a]Blur[/a] star, who wrote the soundtrack for '101 Reykjavik' - avoids a photocall and heads for the bar...

DAMON ALBARN shunned photographers and reporters when he turned up to the premiere of the movie '101 REYKJAVIK' - which he wrote the soundtrack for - at EDINBURGH FILM FESTIVAL last night (August 15).

The Blur frontman was expected to take part in a photocall at the Filmhouse prior to the screening last night, but when he arrived he ignored the waiting press and went straight to the bar, causing a scramble among photographers as they pursued him. The Festival's press officers had already refused point-blank to let journalists speak to Damon.

The film, directed by top Icelandic actor Baltasar Kormakur, is described as "a bleak, mid-winter slacker comedy," with a "pulsating score" by Damon. It gets a second screening on Monday (August 21) at Edinburgh Cameo 2.
