Blur to headline UK festival

Plus Damon Albarn and co sign up for Oxegen in Ireland

Blur will headline this year's T In The Park Festival, NME.COM can reveal.

The reunited band will top the bill on the Sunday night (July 12).

"It's fantastic that Blur have reformed and we're delighted to be able to confirm them for T In The Park this year, especially as the last time they played the festival was ten years ago," festival organiser Geoff Ellis told NME.COM.

"Four hugely talented musicians in their own right, Blur are an incredibly influential band whose closing performance could include festival anthems in the shape of 'Coffee And TV', 'Tender', 'Song 2', 'The Univeral' and 'Parklife' to name but a few."

Blur join Kings Of Leon, Snow Patrol and Katy Perry, who have all already been confirmed for this year's festival (July 10-12).

More bands and ticket details for the 2009 event will be announced soon, so stay tuned to NME.COM for more.

Blur will also play the Oxegen Festival, which takes place in Ireland over the same weekend. Tickets for that festival go on general sale on March 6 at 8am (GMT).
