Blur sign up Vampire Weekend, Foals and more for Hyde Park gigs - exclusive

Band reveal comeback show bills to NME.COM

Blur have exclusively revealed to NME.COM the band who will be joining them at their reformation shows in Hyde Park this summer.

The band play two giant gigs in London (July 2 and 3) and have hand-picked the bands who will play ahead of them, ensuring that each night will be unique.

July 2 features the following bands:
Foals, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

July 3 features the following bands:
Vampire Weekend, Amadou & Mariam, Florence And The Machine and Deerhoof

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, Vampire Weekend's frontman Ezra Koening: declared: "I think the Hyde Park show will be pretty phenomenal. People have been waiting a long time to see Blur reunite and it's flattering to be invited to play at all. This will be my first time seeing Blur live and I'm psyched."

As previously reported, Blur also play Manchester MEN Arena on June 26, with Klaxons and Florence And The Machine joining them on the bill.

That's pretty good! It's cool that each night has a completely original line-up (Plus Klaxons at the M.E.N gig) although it would've been nice to get one slightly bigger band supporting on both the Hyde Park nights at least. It's unlikely many people will be familiar with ALL of those bands so it's nice to know the gigs will be an eye-opener too! All- in-all, I'm happy with that.

basically the most rubbish bands in the uk at the moment are playing alongside Blur, one of the most succesful bands of the past 20 years. Looks like people wont mind missing the support acts.
